Victim recovering after refusing to pay to a beggar suspect at Queensboro Plaza

The NYPD released details of a victim, male, 21, who was waiting for the train at the Queensboro Plaza when a beggar approached with a hand demanding $20. The victim didn’t comply and moved away. This is when the beggar with so much pride took out a baseball bat and attacked the victim. This is at the Long Island City station and the incident was reported on Sunday around 11:30pm. The suspect took off on foot and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital now in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as male, black, now on the hunt.

The NYPD reported all commuters should stay in as groups and not alone for their safety.
