Vehicle fire on the LIE westbound

FDNY reported heavy vehicle fire on the Long Island Expressway westbound between College Point Blvd and 108th Street. The incident was reported around 6:30am. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals. By 8am, traffic was cleared.

According to drivers, a commercial van was rear ended by a box truck resulting burst of flames on the expressway.
