Vehicle fire on all three on Long Island

The SCPD reported this afternoon around 1:30pm a fully involved truck fire on the LIE eastbound by Exit 53 forcing all lanes to close for a while. Also this morning around 10:30am, Southern State Parkway by Exit 19S Peninsula Blvd reported a car fire.

Last night around 10:30pm, Northern State Parkway westbound was closed due to vehicle collision by Exit 37A, the LIE with one overturned resulting in a small fire. EMS transported over five people to local hospitals.

Both NCPD and SCPD are advising drivers to stay alert and drive safely on Long Island for the coming weekend.
