Vehicle crash with one dead in Jackson Heights

Around 1am last night police were called to the intersection of 82nd Street and 37th Avenue reporting a male riding a scooter crashed into a BMW resulting in death. This is in Jackson Heights.

Further investigation stated the scooter operator was riding reckless while high on weed. The BMW driver was apprehended due to DWI but more investigations are underway.

There is no paper file form for weed and driving either bike or vehicle under traffic infraction that’s bad for DWI but misdemeanor only.
