Vehicle accidents with fatalities on Long Island

The SCPD reported a hit and run in Lindenhurst where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and the driver took off. The incident was reported around 6pm on Saturday in the vicinity of N Strong Avenue and 27th Street. The same night around 8:30pm, Sunrise Highway was closed in Blue Point reporting a hit and run with the pedestrian dead on the scene. This is in the vicinity of Waverly Avenue.

In Massapequa, around 9pm in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Unqua Road reported one dead and another injured involving three vehicles and a motorcycle. Police say the motorcyclist died and the driver from the main collision was taken into custody.

Today, in Stony Brook, the SCPD reported a fatality involving a motorcyclist. The incident was reported around 11:30am.

All incidents are under investigation.
