VWE closed in Kew Gardens due to fatality

Police closed off all lanes on the Van Wyck Expressway southbound reporting a vehicle accident with one dead. This is in the vicinity of the LIE by the local Flushing Meadows Corona Park. ESU is working to remove the body and the medical examiner is on the scene to transport the body to conduct an autopsy.

EMS is checking for injuries to all involved.

Avoid the route and won’t be open until late night.
