Update on Operation Restore Roosevelt press meet today with the Mayor

The code word, Operation Restore Roosevelt launched last year to combat crimes on Roosevelt Avenue had dramatically improved. Brothels are down, burglaries are down, robberies are down except sex services and unlicensed vendors on Roosevelt Avenue from 74 Street to 111th Street. All the listed crimes are down by 28% as per the NYPD Commissioner. There were 177 less crimes compared to last year involving the list.

Both the NYC Mayor, NYPD Commissioner along with the law enforcement were at the local 115th Precinct during the press meet. As of today, the NYPD reported 27,000 summons were issued and 2,500 arrests. Around 400 arrests for prostitution at brothels with 18 ordered to vacate.

Still, the local Council member Moya says more work needs to be done but local residents are pleased with the result so far.
