Two well known names gone in Queens

First Donovan’s in Bayside has closed their doors over the weekend. Another one, Tower Diner in Rego Park.

Donovan’s located at 214 Street and 41st Avenue was a longtime fixture and the lot was sold for $7 million along with two buildings around it. The new owner, B. Jiang submitted plans to build apartments, retail stores and medical offices pending approval from the city.

Tower Diner on Queens Blvd and 98th Street was a former bank building since 1993. The owners have another eatery, Dinerbar nearby and will continue to operate there. The new owners will demolish it to make way for 15 story apartment buildings also pending approval.
