Two spots have constant report of assaults from Bellerose to Glen Oaks

Police are frequently called to Union Turnpike between 237th Street to Winchester Blvd reporting assaults. The other location is 263rd Street and 76th Avenue in Glen Oaks. The latest incident, felony assault was reported on February 5 around 8pm when one person was injured at the same spot in Glen Oaks. Several residents complained of vagrants in both locations with mostly panhandling and snooping in the yards to steal items. However, police did not confirm if they are EDP or local patients at Creedmoor. Another officials making round trips are vehicles from NYS Dept of Mental Health.
