Torres Duran is due back in court on September 9, 2025. Torres Moncion is due back in court on September 10, 2025.

If convicted, both defendants each face up to 25 years in prison.

“My office has zero tolerance for illegal gun sales in Nassau County and the trafficking of dangerous untraceable ghost guns specifically designed to dodge law enforcement detection,” said DA Donnelly. “These two defendants, cousins working together to allegedly deal firearms in our communities, put lives at risk. Trafficking in our communities must stop, and I am committed to continuing the important work of ending the flow of these illegal weapons into the county with our local and federal law enforcement partners and  holding offenders accountable who make our neighborhoods less safe.”

DA Donnelly said that, according to the indictment, between April and May 2025, Torres Duran allegedly sold four firearms on three separate dates in Freeport and Baldwin.

The firearms – three semiautomatic pistols and one ghost gun – were allegedly trafficked into Nassau County from Pennsylvania.

Torres Duran sold the  loaded semiautomatic pistols for between $9001500 and $1,540 each.

Torres Duran and Torres Moncion, his cousin, were arrested in Baldwin on June 11, 2025, by officers of the Nassau County Police Department. The vehicle, driven by Torres Moncion, was parked in a parking lot on Grand Avenue.

Five ghost guns, including four 9 mm semiautomatic pistols and an assault rifle, were recovered from the vehicle’s trunk.

Large-capacity ammunition feeding devices for the assault rifle and one of the semiautomatic pistols were also found in the vehicle’s trunk.

Nassau County law enforcement has seized approximately 149 crime guns through June 2025.

The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office thanks the Nassau County Police Department Gang Investigations Squad, the Federal Bureau of Investigations Long Island Gang Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for their assistance and support in this investigation.
