Two in custody for breaking into vehicles in Bellerose

Police reported two suspects in custody for breaking into vehicles after one was caught with multiple catalytic convertors in possession. The incident was reported around 3:30am at the intersection of 254 Street and 87th Avenue in Bellerose. Reported three more suspects were in a vehicle on Jericho Turnpike and 251 Street which took off toward north Little Neck Parkway until lost. Chopper was hovering above during the search. By 4am, one person is in custody after foot pursuit. Another one by 4:15am. Police reported this was a part of catalytic converter theft gang operating late night in the area and more suspects are out there. Ongoing investigation.
