Two are at odds for the north border in NY

South is ok but not north and also no jails in NYC

Today, the NY Governor announced new taxpayer funds for border security and advanced technology to combat and protect NY from the north illegally. The Governor always supported open borders down south which President Trump now has all sealed.

The budget is $10.5 million and the Governor praises ongoing arrests made at the northern border from illegal crossings.

The Governor quoted, “By strategically investing in securing our borders, keeping our streets safe and preventing dangerous individuals from illegally trafficking guns, drugs and other illicit items, we are delivering on that promise — and we will continue to do so to ensure safety and security across the North Country.”

As for NYC, the front runner Zohran Mamdani is against the Governor's decision on the northern border.

Today, Mamdani's campaign is calling to stop the work of the new jails in each borough from moving forth and replacing them with affordable "unaffordable" housing. This came after developers found the loopholes to build 99 units to avoid taxes. According to the NY Dept of Labor, 99 units payout is minimum wage of $16.50 an hour while the entry level pay for construction jobs is $18.30 while the top payout with experience is $50.38. Now more smaller buildings are gaining permits in NYC.

So anyone arrested is let go with a court date to focus more on housing NYC desperately needs, far much more important than crime.
