Truckers are running away from resting

Bellerose reported the most burglaries from trucks parked overnight on Queens streets primarily on Hillside Avenue near the Cross Island Parkway. This followed by Bayside in the vicinity of Northern Blvd.

All the incidents reported overnight while drivers were sleeping or resting inside the trucks.

Now truck drivers continue to drive to either New Jersey or Connecticut to avoid being burglarized.

Several trucks have lost merchandise and were unable to make deliveries causing them to go back to the warehouse to reload.

At one time, the Mayor was in full force removing commercial trucks from parking overnight but now it's all on burglary suspects.
