Troop K community stabilization unit arrests Bronx man on felony drug charges

On June 10, 2026, at approximately 5:07 p.m., members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on Mill Street in the City of Poughkeepsie for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The vehicle was occupied by a 32-year-old driver from Brooklyn, New York, and front-seat passenger Tajh D. Ford, 30, of Bronx, New York.

During the investigation, State Police Narcotics K-9 Rock conducted an exterior scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle and Ford’s person resulted in the seizure of approximately 63.8 grams of cocaine, 27.2 grams of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. The driver was released during the course of the investigation.

Ford was charged with:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Intent to Sell), a Class B Felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a Class B Felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor

Two Counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, Class A Misdemeanors
