Three charged in Fishkill gang assault investigation

On July 23, 2026, the New York State Police in Wappinger responded to a private residence in the Town of Fishkill to assist the Town of Fishkill Police Department with the investigation of a reported assault.

The investigation determined that the individuals involved were attending a birthday celebration when a physical altercation broke out among several partygoers. During the incident, a 20-year-old male victim was assaulted by Baboucarr E. Camara, 21, an 18-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male, all of Newburgh, New York. The victim sustained serious physical injuries as a result of the assault.

On July 31, 2026, Camara and the 18-year-old male were arrested and each charged with Gang Assault in the Second Degree, a Class C felony.

Both defendants were arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and released under the supervision of Dutchess County Probation. They are scheduled to reappear in the Town of Fishkill Court on Sept. 2, 2026, at 9 a.m.

On August 3, 2026, the 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with Gang Assault in the Second, a Class C felony.
