Man arrested charged with murder in deadly Long Island city high rise stabbing

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred inside a high-rise apartment in Long Island City over the weekend.

Bretford Brewer, 36, from Brooklyn, faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim, Carlos Penzo, also 36, was discovered in his apartment at 43-25 Hunter Street on Saturday afternoon, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his head, face, and chest.

On Tuesday, officials reported the apprehension of a man who was found naked on the roof of the apartment building, allegedly spraying a fire extinguisher at security cameras.

Brewer is set to be arraigned on Thursday.
