Teen arrested for multiple gun charges after foot pursuit

On June 9, 2026, Troop A Community Stabilization Unit arrested Kacuol I. Chol, 18 of Buffalo, NY for Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Menacing 2nd degree with a weapon.

On June 9, 2026, Troop A Community Stabilization Unit observed a vehicle traveling with four males in the backseat without seatbelts; two males were observed pointing possible toy firearms out the window at other vehicles. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. After the traffic stop, one backseat passenger who wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, later identified as Chol fled the scene. Chol was apprehended after a foot pursuit. Chol was in possession of a loaded Glock 43X handgun with a high-capacity magazine in his waistband. Chol was taken into custody and transported to SP Buffalo for processing. Chol was transported to the Buffalo lockup for arraignment.
