Teacher arrested for sexual abuse at Bethpage High School

The Special Victims Squad reports the arrest of a Smithtown man for Sexual Abuse that occurred in Bethpage. According to detectives, Defendant Joseph Gallagher, 28, of Smithtown, while employed as a teacher at Bethpage High School, engaged in sexual contact with a juvenile female victim. The school was notified of a possible incident and contacted Police who continued to conduct a thorough investigation. Defendant Gallagher was arrested without incident and charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
