Tax season started to warn of new scams

A new scam is out losers pretending to be a bank employee calling for personal information. Today, more than 5 million customers of different banks received a text that looks legitimate to click on to check for the updated account only to lead to a scam pointer where victims were lured to submit personal information.

With the new tax refunds, higher standard deductions and new deductions though the filing process maybe more task oriented under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, law enforcement is warning all to avoid too good to be true deals and work with banks directly.

A new alert before April 15, 2026 which is the deadline for tax filing shows extension granted which is a scam so avoid at all costs.

The law enforcement also warns that older versions of smart phones are prone to scammers so watch out for that as well.
