Suspect in custody for the killing of Jackson Heights woman

After local politicians demand arrest for the death of Bertha Ariaga, 43 on 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights, NYPD busted a 31 year old suspect for the homicide on Friday. The same politicians who all voted to defund NYPD is now in much relief. The suspect identified as Issam Elabbar, 31 of Jackson Heights is charged with homicide. Arriaga was found dead with bullet in her head on September 30. Police reported Arriaga was not the target as the suspect fired at another male who escaped on a scooter later.
