Suspect in custody after burglary and grand larceny in New Hyde Park

Police reported a male was taken into custody outside the Chase Bank on Hillside Avenue and Hillside Blvd on July 13 around 2pm. Further investigation reported the suspect has been charged with multiple burglaries on Cherry Lane and grand larceny of mail thefts. The first burglary was reported on June 29 around 12pm. One of the victims alerted the bank of the stolen card and police were called immediately when the suspect attempted to use it. Ongoing investigation.
