Survival phase activated on Roosevelt Avenue

On Friday, the NYPD raided another massage parlor operating as a front for an illegal brothel. This is by 98th Street in Corona.

Multiple people were taken into custody including patrons who were caught in the middle of the act.

The NYPD had extended their vice squad, having cops go undercover especially around schools.

So far as of this year, 14 locations have been shut down despite most of the arrested are back to business.

According to a local john often seen on Roosevelt Avenue passing cards, rates are flexible to remain competitive. The same with women standing outside hard bargaining patrons.

A john stated he got a lucky bargain for $20.

Despite arrests, according to the Chief of Patrol, the objective is to help the victims from coming back but the Mayor's Office has no response why there are no programs. Most of the programs were discontinued after the state dried up around $30 million taxpayer funds which were unaudited.

So far local elected officials and the Congress member, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez are silent on this ongoing crisis where residents and local businesses are complaining. Jessica Ramos, a candidate for the Mayor's election next year has not responded. Same with Assembly member Catalina Cruz and State Senate member Jessica Gonzales-Rojas, all have no response.

The local Council member Moya is working with the Mayor's Office but so far blamed on lack of funds.
