Sunrise Highway now open for traffic in Bayshore

The SCPD reported Sunrise Highway is now open in both directions in time for the rush hour after a jumper down in Bayshore.

The incident was reported this afternoon around 2:30pm in Suffolk County. ESU say the victim, female in her 30's was distraught by Brook Avenue overpass for unknown reasons threatening to jump. By 3pm, EMS transported the victim from the ground to a local hospital unresponsive awaiting additional details which were not disclosed to the public.

Police have notified the victim’s family and continue to stay up to date on the health status. The investigation continues.
