Sunrise Highway closed in Bay Shore

The SCPD closed Sunrise Highways westbound reporting a fatality involving a pedestrian. This is by 2nd Avenue in Bay Shore, Suffolk County. The incident was reported this afternoon around 1pm.

Police didn't say whether the driver remains on the scene due to heavy police activity with traffic control.

The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

ESU is working on the scene with evidence search.

Also the Crime Scene Unit is working on the scene.

The investigation continues.
