Street renaming to honor the late NYPD in QV

Today at 1:30pm, there will be a street renaming ceremony for the late NYPD Officer Paul Heidelberger. This is on Jamaica Avenue and 217th Street in Queens Village not far from his childhood home.

33 years ago, the officer, then aged 28 was killed outside a club on Bell Blvd in Bayside off-duty. He was assigned to the New York City Housing Authority Police Department.

The ceremony is open to the public.
