Chopper notes on the Queens Nassau side

This morning around 5:30am, all eastbound LIE was closed after a tractor trailer was involved in a multiple vehicle accident with injuries. There was a reported fuel spill all over the expressway resulting in a major cleanup. This is by Exit 32 in Manhasset.

Moreover, there was an event in Nassau Coliseum for the Prime Minister of India who was scheduled to speak today and there were lots of last minute traffic closures in the Queens and Nassau County vicinities to have the PM arrive on time in Uniondale, Nassau County.

The helicopters are military grade from the federal government due to tight security. The NYPD and NCPD helicopters are also involved.

Earlier this morning, the NYC Dept of Transportation also reported the dignified transfer of the sanitaton worker who died yesterday in Douglaston to a funeral home in Nassau County and Cross Island Parkway was at a standstill from the GCP eastbound.

Another NYPD chopper is also in Queens Village to honor a street naming of a late police officer.
