State police arrest two after Albany traffic stop and stolen gun recovered

On December 6, 2024, at about 3:46 a.m. State Police assigned to Troop T stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Albany, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation.  The driver was identified as Adelman, and the passenger as Jordan. While taking Adelman into custody for Driving While Impaired by Drugs, he was found to possess controlled substances. During the investigation, Troopers also discovered multiple controlled substances allegedly packaged in a manner for sale, an illegally possessed loaded handgun, other illegal weapons, glass smoking devices containing drug residue, and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The gun was determined to have been reportedly stolen from Fulton County, NY earlier this year. Further investigation led to the discovery of additional felony-weight narcotics and a locked safe containing additional controlled substances in the vehicle.

Both were arrested at the scene.  Adelman complained about a medical issue and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  Jordan was transported to SP Latham for processing and Adelman was later transported to SP Latham for processing following a medical evaluation. Both were then brought to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
