State Police investigate an accident that occurred at the US port of entry in Massena

On November 7, 2024, at approximately 2:44 a.m., State Police members responded to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port of Entry for a personal injury accident.  An investigation determined a black dirtbike, operated by an 18-year-old female from Akwesasne, ON, was traveling south on Seaway International Bridge in the northbound lane in the town of Massena.  The operator fails to stop at the U.S. Customs Border checkpoint and continues to drive south against traffic.  Border Patrol officers put the safety barrier in place.  The operator struck the barrier, causing her to eject from the dirtbike.  The operator was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
