State Police arrest three and seize a handgun during Thruway traffic stop in Guilderland

On October 26, 2025, State Police of Latham with the assistance of Troop T, Albany arrested Saadiq A. King, 25 of Atco, NJ, Kharie G. Orange-Blakney, 26 of Cherry Hill, NJ, and Paris J. Taylor, 21 of Camden, NJ each for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree.

King and Taylor were also charged with Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On October 26, 2025, at about 1:59 a.m. Troopers stopped a vehicle on the I-90 Thruway in Guilderland, NY for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Taylor and the passengers as King and Orange-Blakney. During the investigation, with the assistance of State Police K9 “Ash” Troopers located an illegally possessed loaded handgun and an illegally possessed high-capacity magazine.

All three individuals were arrested at the scene and transported to SP Albany (Troop T) for processing.  King, Orange-Blakney, and Taylor were arraigned at the Guilderland Town Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or a $75,000 partially secured bond.
