State Police arrest summit man following rape investigation

On October 8, 2026, State Police arrested David J. Hadsell, 21, of Summit, NY, for Rape 3rd, a class “E” felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class “A” misdemeanor.

On October 8, 2026, Troopers responded to the report of a missing child. The investigation located the child under the age of 17 at the home of Hadsell. Further investigation determined Hadsell allegedly had sexual contact with the child at the location.

Hadsell was arrested.
