State Police arrest a Troy man for felony drug possession following a Troy traffic stop

On February 20, 2026, State Police of Brunswick arrested Jaheim J. Garland, 24, of Troy, NY, for:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, a class “A” felony

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felony

Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, a class “A” misdemeanor

Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and a vehicle and traffic law violation

On February 20, 2026, at about 1:00 a.m. Troopers stopped a vehicle on High Street in Troy for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The driver was identified as Garland. During the investigation, troopers observed a large quantity of psilocybin mushrooms in plain view. Further investigation discovered an unlawful amount of cannabis packaged in multiple small quantities, a scale, and a large amount of U.S. currency, which were all seized.
