State Police arrest Queens man on fraud related charges

On September 23, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Highland arrested Eric A. Balko, age 36, of Jamaica, New York, on multiple fraud-related charges

 

Balko is charged with the following:

 

Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a class D felony

Offering a false Instrument to filing 2nd Degree, a class A misdemeanor

Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a class D felony

The Investigation began on August 23, 2024, after an employee of Ulster Savings Bank observed that the same individual cashed multiple checks at different Ulster Saving Bank branches resulting in a substantial monetary loss.

Balko is accused of cashing fraudulent checks for his own monetary gain.
