State Police arrest Cobleskill man following Rape investigation

On June 16, 2026, State Police, in partnership with the Schoharie County Probation Department, arrested Theodore R. Alberts, 22, of Cobleskill for:

Two counts of Rape 3rd, a class “E” felony

Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class “A” misdemeanor

On June 15, 2026, troopers received information reporting sexual contact between an adult man and a child. The investigation determined Alberts allegedly had repeated sexual contact with a child under the age of 17 in Cobleskill. Alberts reportedly met the victim online via social media operating under the alias of “Kay Wright”
