Stalker in custody after rampage from Elmhurst to Rego Park

The NYPD made arrest of a suspect who went on a rampage from stalking in Elmhurst to assault in Rego Park. The incident was unfolded this morning around 10:30am when a male, 42, black with over 50 priors made eye contact toward a female victim, 19 years old on Woodhaven Blvd in Elmhurst. The victim decided to walk away to escape and the male followed. Somehow the victim managed to access a local Jewish Institute school and still the male followed. This is when the security tried to stop the male after asking for water and assault broke out. During this incident, a student, 8 years old was injured after getting caught in the middle. The security managed to hold down the perp until police arrived. EMS transported the child to a local hospital now in stable condition. The perp was hauled away by police. Also police recovered a hammer from the perp. The Queens DA is working to issue an order of protection for the female victim. Charges are pending for the male.
