Speed cameras to add on bridges in NYC

The MTA is in desperate need of funds so speed cameras will be added on all bridges in NYC. Robert F Kennedy formerly Triboro Bridge, Queens Midtown Tunnel, Throgs Neck Bridge, Hugh Carey Tunnel and Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.

The cameras will be installed next year when spring season starts with flowers blooming in time for Easter. All the cameras will be operational during constructions like the Long Island Expressway under Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program.

There will be a warning summon issued the first 30 days for going over the 10 mph above the speed limit. After 30 days, the first fine will be $50 with no points. Then $100 for repeated offenses.

The MTA says the revenue generated will cover the construction around the bridges and is expected to make it permanent.
