Slow process takes up to weeks for tree removal in NYC

The NYC Mayor's office stated that removing a tree from the storm will take up to two weeks minimum due to the volume of 311 calls city wide. The task is done by NYC Parks Dept if it's a street or park tree. As for trees that fell on private properties that’s not from sidewalks or roads but inside, it is up to the owner to hire a professional tree service company to remove it which requires a permit depending on the size.

As of today, the city has received 2,184 calls related to trees including branches and leaves on the public areas. It will take around a month to clean up altogether.

Also, the building dept inspectors are out checking damages as well.

Many New Yorkers claim the weather went woke since it wasn't a major storm brewing as expected. Despite the outcome, the city was in full force with personnel enjoying overtime with nice equipment to try out in the weather.
