Shoplifting turned to robberies from QV to Bellerose

Police reported for the month of August, one vicinity resulted in the highest incident of shoplifting to robberies from Queens Village to Bellerose. Most of the incidents reported on Hillside Avenue from the Clearview Expressway to Winchester Blvd.

When the workers confront shoplifting, the suspects attack which results in robberies.

EMS reported several workers were injured and had left their jobs for fear of their own safety from retaliations with suspects coming back in groups.

Despite local pleas, local businesses are hurting from lack of safety. Several store owners are surprised the same suspects keep on coming back like it's another day.

Moreover, store owners have stated once the lease is over, they will not renew and move somewhere else.

The local elected officials have not responded to the store owner's pleas as of yet.
