Shooting investigation has road closed in Springfield Gardens

Police have closed off 223rd Street and 135th Avenue reporting a male shot. This is near Springfield Blvd in Springfield Gardens.

EMS is working to transport the victim to a local hospital.

Police say the suspect, male, black took off on foot.

So far no arrests.

Despite the shootings, NYC remains a safe city according to the Mayor's office.
