Sherburne man arrested following investigation into unwanted sexual contact involving teenage employees

On June 2, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Sidney arrested Salvatore E. Magro, 36 of Sherburne following an investigation into reports that underage victims were subjected to unwanted sexual contact while working with him.

The investigation determined that over the last two years Magro engaged in a pattern of inappropriate sexual contact toward multiple teenage victims, which included unwanted touching while the victims were employed at Joe and Vinny’s Pizzeria on North Main Street in the village of Sherburne.

Magro was taken into custody on June 2, outside the pizzeria.  He was charged with:

Three counts of Forcible Touching (touching sexual/intimate parts of another person), a misdemeanor

Four counts of Sexual Misconduct, a misdemeanor

Endangering the Welfare of a Child (child less than 17), a misdemeanor

Magro was processed at SP Norwich then transported to the Chenango County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.  The victims were issued Orders of Protection directing Magro to have no contact with them.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
