On Wednesday, July 26 morning, Mayor di Blasio held a press conference announcing 1 million riders have taken the NYC Ferry Service within 3 months after launching in May 1st. The next route scheduled to start is Astoria service to Manhattan is August 29. Queensboro President Melinda Katz has been tight lipped about adding the northeast ferry routes from College Point, Whitestone, Bayside and Little Neck to Manhattan. Katz won't disclose until mayor's office confirms more routes based on the schedule demand awaiting this fall season. Already south shore Nassau County has shown interest to add ferry routes to Manhattan with stops in Queens and more plans are in the work. pic courtesy of mayors office.
