Shark spotting alert in Nassau County beaches

A lifeguard working at Lido Beach West reported of a shark sighting today. The area has red-flagged as per NYS shark protocols. Swimming is prohibited at the following beaches, Lido Beach, Lido Beach West, Town Park Point Lookout, Town Park Sands and Civic Beach. Lifeguards will continue to monitor the area until swimming can resume in the area.
