School bus caught fire early morning in Roosevelt

Firefighters were called to Bennett Avenue and St. Francis Street in Roosevelt on Monday, October 9 around 7am reporting a school bus fire. The driver stopped the vehicle after seeing smoke and evacuated all the children inside. The children were picked up from homes and were heading to Family Residences and Essential Enterprises in Old Bethpage. No one was injured. The cause of fire under investigation.
