Scam alert targeting victims with COVID 19 TREAS FUND

As of today, over 500,000 New Yorkers received text message of pending direct deposit of anywhere from $1,200 to $2,400 from COVID-19 TREAS FUND. The text message states further action is required to accept the payment into account by clicking on the link sent. The link on the text message sends you to a phony web site. While it may be tempting to check it out, police officials said the link is designed to steal your personal information when you click on it.
