Safety measures is the concern to the oldest profession on Roosevelt Avenue

From Friday to Sunday, several watchdogs covering the oldest profession on Roosevelt Avenue from Jackson Heights, Elmhurst to Corona have compiled the following notes.

The NYPD did a great job with unlicensed vendors, traffic regulations especially riders using ebikes and scooters by confiscating illegal ons and issuing fines as part of Operation Restore Roosevelt except to the oldest profession.

The latest shock claimed the victims on Roosevelt Avenue through interpreters say they prefer migrants mostly since the money was given without hesitation for services which are all funded by taxpayers from vouchers issued by the city through non profits and other agencies. A local massage parlor soliciting tourists say it's safer to identify character before moving to full service for safety. The next one is car pick-ups where license plates are recorded for the safety and only driver is the preferred choice.

All agreed safety is the main reason and the local bars with security force is the best place but the pay is not the same as standing outside.

Many say they must pay the money borrowed first for their own safety and families back in their countries. So until then they want to be left alone despite many programs available for support for the fear of testifying in court in case an arrest is made.

The Mayor's office say this is a very complex issue that requires much more funding not allotted as many members of the City Council want to decriminalize this profession while the majority of New Yorkers are opposed demanding to end the operation in the area.
