Robberies spiking in northeast Queens

The local precincts in the northeast Queens section of Bayside, Glen Oaks, Auburndale, Little Neck, Douglaston, Fresh Meadows, Bellerose and Queens Village are issuing notices to locals of increasing robberies involving migrants.

According to the NYPD, more than 60% of the crimes in northeast Queens are committed by migrants.

Midtown Manhattan is still the lead with 75% of the crimes committed by migrants.

Besides robberies, assaults and burglaries are also up.

Little Neck reported the most incidents with burglaries.

The Bayside location of the Northern Blvd vicinity reported the most robberies involving scooters.

The latest robbery incident was reported yesterday around 7:30pm on 172nd Street and 41st Avenue where a victim, male, 20, was robbed.

While Bayside reported 24 victims involving robberies, mugging and thefts, Bellerose is second with 18 incidents.

Whitestone is on the last spot.

The NYC Mayor continues to plead for more funds for programs to help migrants but the latest number from the Dept of Homeland Security is $384 million dollars to all cities on August 28, 2024. Since then, the city and state are using taxpayer funds to allocate for migrants.

Meanwhile residents are advised to stay alert.
