Ringleader of IRS scam arrested in India

India - Sagar Thakkar, 24 was arrested at Mumbai airport after flying in from Dubai on Saturday morning. Thakaar is a wanted suspect who allegedly masterminded by setting up call centers in several locations and then call US residents by alerting them they owe back taxes to IRS. If they don't pay the dues, they were threatened with fines, prison, deportation and other tactics. More than $300 million dollars were generated from the illegal operation organized by Thakkar. Police reported there were over 15,000 people were scammed. During the raid, 700 people were arrested and 400 were charged. Another group of people still remains in jail.
