Rental assistance for New Yorkers affected by the pandemic

Governor Cuomo announced rental assistance program for those affected by the pandemic. The proposal, COVID Rent Relief Program was introduced in the Senate and Assembly but only one side passed. Cuomo added the program under CARES Act. To apply, follow this link, https://hcr.ny.gov/RRP
Application will be ready Thursday.
Also, Cuomo's office confirmed there are no relief for renters and no cancel rent in place. This is a one time eligibility paid to landlords from taxpayers funds and tenants does not have to pay back. The odd of being eligible is 1 in 5,000.
