Queens men busted for scamming victims into phony computer repair services


The feds busted Gunjit Malhotra, 30, Gurjeet Singh, 24, Jas Pal, 54, all of Queens and charged with accessing victim's computers without authorization resulting malfunction and lured them into purchasing phony computer repair services. The computers belonging to elderly victims when called for repair services had setup with a remote access to show more problems. Thus, forcing the victims to pay more. The scammers told the victims they were associated with major technology software companies when they were not to convince. The scam resulted $1.3 million dollars. Malhotra and Pal were taken into custody after investigation and Singh was arrested in St Louis. All three charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, conspiracy to access a protected computer in furtherance of fraud, identity theft and other charges.
