Queens highways has cops to monitor reckless driving

The NYPD Highway Patrol in cooperation with the NYS Police is now in full force on the Queens highways to combat reckless and dangerous driving on the highways.

The three major routes are the Cross Island Parkway, Grand Central Parkway and the Long Island Expressway.

The first offense is $150 for within 10 miles above the speed limit. $300 for more than 10 mph over - less than 30 mph over and $600 for more than 30 mph over.

The NYPD Highway and NYSP announced the plan will continue to the Thanksgiving weekend.
