Public Safety Academy going ahead in College Point

Hey from millions to billion the next new operation using taxpayers.

The NYC Mayor announced officially the new building called Public Safety Academy that will combine all training from NYPD to DSNY in College Point. The current location is now called Police Academy and will expand to 20 city agencies. The initial cost was $225 million taxpayer funds when the plan was announced in 2021 which will start in 2026 and expect to complete by 2030. This unified location will bring all the trainees to interact with all workers in different agencies and learn from each other. The details will be disclosed to the local community board of road closures and construction activities when it starts.

According to City Hall insiders, this project will cost around $1 billion when it is set for the second stage with more advanced features and expansions.
